Winter CSA October 30-November 3

Posted 10/28/2010 7:53pm by Andre Cantelmo.
The corn yet lives! Probably a record here on the farm for length of a corn season. Singed by the frosts but not down for the count. The broccoli has finally decided to grace us with its presence, still waiting on the cauliflower. We've been busy on the farm this week harvesting potatoes and rutabagas in addition to all of the greens. Greenhouse seeding for winter crops is just about completed. Cover crops are growing well with this weeks warmth.
For those with farmstand pickups, we had a very busy Saturday, with many of you choosing to pick up your share that day. We will have several scales set up this week so that you can more efficiently weigh your potatoes and broccoli. Please bear with us as we try to make the pickups as smooth as possible.
Andre and I apologize for any problems in Dover and Portsmouth due our failure to send out more detailed information prior to those pickups. Both pickups run from 3:00 to 7:00, Dover on Monday and Portsmouth on Wednsday. For directions to either site you can go to our website under Contact/Directions and select Maps and Directions.
Eat Well and enjoy, Greg
